Depression

Depression is the experience of having a low mood, feeling unhappy and sad that is much more persistant and severe than normal sadness. It’s something you can’t just shake off. People suffering from depression often report that they just don’t feel like their normal selves. If you are suffering from depression you may feel fatigued or agitated. You might have feelings of low self-worth, have trouble sleeping, or be sleeping too much. You may also feel slowed down, have trouble concentrating, or have thoughts about death or suicide.

If you think you might be suffering from depression, it is very important to talk to a professional to help you to assess just what is going on and what the best approach might be for you. Depression affects you both biologically (the way the brain works) and psychologically (the way you think and feel).

Depression is very treatable, and it has been shown that psychotherapy does help.
