Couples

Therapy and education helps repair troubled relationships and works to make the individual become stronger, more loving, and healthier. In recent years, research has greatly increased our understanding of relationships — what makes healthy relationships work and what gets in the way when they don’t. Together we can work to significantly improve the intimacy and friendship in your relationship.

Couples work is collaborative and respectful. Strategies for change are made clear and easy to decipher. My aim is to change the interaction system couples create and to foster the birth of a secure bond between partners.

Gay couples face particular stresses. These burdens stem from growing up without relationship role models, and from being subjected to interpersonal and cultural shaming and put-downs. Those involved in gay relationships face a lack of social, cultural and legal support. It is helpful to have a therapist that can understand these differences.
